Carbon facial - laser treatment

The Carbon Facial: Or, Why You Should Spend Lunch Break Looking Like a Batman Villain In the ever-evolving theater of aesthetic medicine, the Carbon Laser Facial (lovingly dubbed the "Hollywood Peel") has emerged as the leading actor. It is the perfect marriage of high-tech physics and "I woke up like this" results. If you’ve ever felt your pores were large enough to house small woodland creatures, or if your skin has the dull vibe of a rainy Tuesday, this is your reset button.

How It Works
The procedure is a two-stage performance that sounds more intense than it feels.
The Charcoal Disguise: First, we paint your face with medical-grade liquid carbon. It’s dark, dramatic, and for ten minutes, you will look like you’re preparing for a very chic commando raid. This carbon is a magnet; it sinks deep into your pores, bonding with the oil, dirt, and dead skin cells that have overstayed their welcome.
The Laser Eviction: We then introduce the Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. The laser light is highly attracted to the black carbon. When it hits, it causes a "mini-explosion"—don’t worry, it’s microscopic—that vaporizes the carbon instantly. As the carbon vanishes, it takes the bound impurities with it.
The Perks: Why We Do It
While "blasting your face with lasers" is a great story, the actual benefits are scientifically delightful:
Deep Detox: It clears out pores better than any manual scrub ever could. Pore Shrinkage: By removing the "gunk," your pores actually contract. The Glow: Zapping away dead cells reveals a smoother, brighter surface immediately.
Collagen Party: The laser's heat whispers to your skin to start making more collagen, helping iron out fine lines.
Acne Intervention: The energy destroys bacteria and shrinks oil glands—great news for the "professionally oily."
Downtime & Recovery
The "Hollywood" moniker comes from the fact that you can have this done and immediately go walk a red carpet—or go back to your desk.
Recovery Time: Zero. You might be slightly pink for an hour, but that’s it.
The Maintenance: Moisturize and wear SPF 30+ religiously. Your skin is "new" and needs protection from the sun's judgmental rays.
The Roadmap: While one session gives an instant glow, long-term transformation usually requires 3 to 6 sessions, spaced a few weeks apart.

PREPARING FOR PROCEDURE & AFTERCARE

Preparing for Your Procedure

For at least two weeks before your appointment, avoid other aggressive treatments like chemical peels, Botox, or fillers.

  • 1 Week Before: Stop sunbathing and avoid tanning beds. Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily.

  • 3–5 Days Before: Discontinue "active" skincare ingredients such as Retinoids, exfoliating acids (AHAs/BHAs), Vitamin C serums, and benzoyl peroxide.

  • 48 Hours Before: Do not wax, thread, or shave the treatment area.

  • Day of Treatment: Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face. Avoid applying any lotions or oils.

  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to the session.

Essential Aftercare

Post-treatment skin is sensitive and needs time to settle. While there is no downtime, following these rules ensures optimal healing.

  • Sun Protection: Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily. Avoid direct sun exposure for at least one week.

  • Keep it Cool: For 24–48 hours, avoid anything that causes excessive heat or sweating, such as hot showers, saunas, or vigorous exercise.

  • Skincare Restrictions: Wait 24 hours before applying makeup. Avoid exfoliants, retinols, and acids for at least 5–7 days. Use only a gentle cleanser and moisturizer.

  • General Maintenance: Do not pick or scrub flaking skin.

For lasting improvements, we recommend a series of 3–6 treatments spaced 2–4 weeks apart.
